In Atomic Scaling, Ludovic Bodin reveals strategies for companies to unlock growth in today’s digital landscape. With a focus on speed, agility, and the power of small teams, Bodin offers critical insights on how businesses can stay competitive. Interview.
Hi Ludovic Bodin, why did you write this book… now?
Ludovic Bodin: I wrote Atomic Scaling because there’s a massive challenge companies face today, whether big or small: they can’t seem to unlock growth online, even with loads of resources at their disposal. The secret sauce isn’t in throwing more money or people at the problem. It’s about having small, nimble, high-impact teams that can scale their efforts exponentially. This book is my answer to what’s really needed today—speed, agility, and innovation, especially in this fast-evolving landscape.
An extract from your book that best represents you?
Ludovic Bodin: A line that really resonates with me is:
PREDICTION IS AS IMPORTANT AS PRODUCTION
“The iteration of hypothesis, changes, and measurement will make you better at a faster rate than anything else we have seen,” says Gabe Newell. If you start using AI, you will improve even faster.”
The power of a small team is in its ability to move fast, make mistakes, learn quickly, and pivot with precision. When properly aligned and empowered, a team of a few can outmaneuver competitors 10 times their size.
It speaks to the core of what I believe—that when you get the right people in a room, magic can happen. And you don’t need a ton of resources to beat the giants if you’re agile and focused.
The trends you believe in the most?
Ludovic Bodin: There’s a lot I’m excited about, but AI and automation are game changers for small teams. These tools are helping companies unlock efficiencies like never before. Combine that with data-driven decision-making and lean management, and you’ve got a powerful recipe for growth. Also, the rise of no-code platforms is huge—it’s lowering the barrier for entry so that anyone can build and scale a business with limited resources.
One piece of advice for the readers?
Ludovic Bodin: Focus on the right problems. More resources won’t solve the wrong challenges. Zero in on what truly matters to your customers, and once you find that, go all in with speed and precision. That’s how you grow.
What’s next for you?
Ludovic Bodin: I’m getting more and more obsessed with how small teams can use AI not just for automation, but for creativity and innovation—redefining how companies are run. I’m also diving deeper into how organizations can foster cultures of innovation that thrive on adaptability, whether they’re in tech or more traditional industries. Scaling these insights across sectors is something I’m really passionate about.
Thank you Ludovic Bodin
